Grounded Leadership™ is a group coaching for leaders methodology developed by executive coach Deborah Guy. It helps professionals recognize and move through fear-based patterns—imposter syndrome, perfectionism, self-sabotage, and overthinking—to lead with confidence and clarity. Rather than eliminating fear (which is impossible), Grounded Leadership™ teaches leaders to master their relationship with fear so it no longer drives their decisions.
You've built a successful career. From the outside, everything looks fine.
But on the inside, you know something's off.
Maybe it's the overthinking that keeps you stuck in analysis paralysis. The imposter syndrome that shows up right before the big meeting. The exhaustion of constantly performing confidence you don't actually feel.
You're navigating real pressures—AI disruption, organizational change, increasing demands—and somewhere along the way, fear started driving more of your decisions than you'd like to admit.
There's a gap between how capable you are and how capable you feel. And that gap is exhausting.
Leadership group coaching
Research published in Harvard Business Review found that 85% of executives identified "fear of not being good enough" as a significant barrier to their performance. This imposter phenomenon affects leaders at all levels, regardless of objective success—the pattern doesn't discriminate based on actual competence. (Source: Harvard Business Review)

What are fear-based patterns? Automatic behavioral responses that originally developed as protection but now limit growth. Common patterns include imposter syndrome (chronic self-doubt despite competence), perfectionism (refusing to act until conditions are ideal), people-pleasing (abandoning personal needs to avoid conflict), and procrastination (disguised avoidance).
The Grounded Leadership™ Group is a 12-week leadership group coaching program where a small cohort of professionals (maximum 9 participants) work through six core modules together: Fear Mastery Primer, Stretch/Risk/Die Zones, Frustration & Disappointment, The Four A's, Getting Unstuck, and Self-Acknowledgment. But credentials aren't why my clients get results.
They get results because I understand what's really going on beneath the surface. The fear that masquerades as perfectionism. The self-doubt that hides behind over-preparation. The imposter syndrome that keeps brilliant leaders playing smaller than they should.
As a certified fear mastery coach, I help leaders recognize when fear—not logic—is driving their decisions. And I give them practical tools to choose differently.
My approach combines somatic awareness with strategic coaching. We don't just talk about change—we create it, in your body and your behavior.
CREDENTIALS
I'm Deborah Guy, and I've spent 25+ years in executive coaching—including directing coaching programs for Fortune 100 companies and leading teams on Wall Street.
Working with Deborah helped me finally understand why I kept holding myself back. Once I could see it, I could change it. I've made two huge career advancements since we first working together.
— B.B, Public Policy
I came to the group coaching thinking I needed to be more strategic. What I discovered was that my imposter syndrome was running the show. The work we did in the cohort gave me tools I use every single day. I finally feel like I belong in the rooms I'm in.
— J.C. Business Co-Owner, Bio Tech Industry
The peer support in this cohort was unexpected and invaluable. Hearing other successful leaders admit to the same doubts I had—and watching them transform—gave me permission to do the same. Deborah creates a space where real change happens.

ABOUT PART 2:
Group coaching for leaders brings together a small cohort of professionals (typically 6-12 people) who work through a structured curriculum together over a defined period. Unlike individual coaching, group coaching offers peer learning, shared accountability, and the recognition that you're not alone in your challenges. Participants report that seeing others navigate similar patterns accelerates their own breakthroughs.
Individual coaching provides dedicated 1:1 attention tailored entirely to your specific situation. Leadership group coaching offers a different advantage: the opportunity to learn from others' experiences, build peer accountability, and practice new behaviors in a supportive community. Research shows group coaching can be equally effective as individual coaching for developing specific competencies, with the added benefit of expanded perspective and lower investment.
Participants typically experience increased self-awareness about fear-based patterns, practical tools for emotional regulation under pressure, and greater confidence in decision-making. By the end of three months, most participants can recognize their default patterns in real-time and choose different responses.
The Grounded Leadership™ Group meets twice monthly for 90-minute sessions via Zoom, with optional office hours between sessions. Materials between sessions require 30-60 minutes per week. Total investment is approximately 5-6 hours per month.
